Inspiring Curious Minds

Hands-On STEM Workshops

Real experiments. Real components. Hands-on discovery.

Curious Quanta’s STEM workshops are already running with primary-aged children in Kew. Developed and facilitated by Dr Chamali Jacob — experimental physicist and STEM educator — every session puts science directly in children’s hands. Children build, experiment, investigate, observe and solve problems for themselves. No worksheets. No passive watching. Just real equipment, guided inquiry, and the kind of discovery that sticks.

Ages 6–9 · Explore & Discover

Ages 6–9 | Explore & Discover

Hands-on science sessions designed for curious young minds. Each lab uses real equipment and guided discovery to bring big ideas to life.

Laser light bending through lenses and prisms during a Light Lab STEM workshop

Light Lab

Bend, Reflect & Control Light

Children investigate how light behaves using lenses, mirrors, reflection and refraction. A hands-on exploration of optics using real components.

Child holding a breadboard with a glowing red LED during a Circuit Lab STEM workshop

Circuit Lab

Build Your First Circuit

Using breadboards, LEDs, resistors, switches and batteries, children design and build their own working circuits from scratch.

Cork pinboard with coloured string showing geometric patterns during a Coordinate Lab session

Coordinate Lab

Map, Build & Navigate

Using a LEGO coordinate plane, LEGO pieces and cubes, children explore coordinates, mapping and spatial reasoning in a hands-on way.

Ages 9–12 · Investigate & Create

Ages 9–12 | Investigate & Create

More complex challenges for older learners — deeper investigation, sharper reasoning, and real-world scientific thinking.

Child peering into a UV and blue light imaging box during an Imaging Lab STEM workshop

Imaging Lab

Discover How Images Are Made

Investigate how images form using pinhole imaging, lenses, focal distance and magnification. Children build their own imaging devices and observe real optical phenomena.

Child pointing at a green LED circuit on a desk during a Smart Circuits Lab workshop

Smart Circuits Lab

Can a Circuit Sense the World?

Children build circuits using light and temperature sensors, exploring how electronics detect and respond to the environment around them.

UNO R3-compatible board and electronic components used in a Curious Quanta Arduino workshop

Arduino Lab

Code, Circuits & Control

Using UNO R3-compatible boards and the Arduino IDE, children build and program simple circuits using LEDs and push buttons. They explore inputs, outputs, timing and sequences while discovering how computer code controls real electronic systems.

Work With Us

Bring Curious Quanta to Your Students

Curious Quanta workshops are available as school incursions, holiday programs, enrichment sessions, after-school activities, and collaborations with education providers. Each session is designed to complement the curriculum while giving children experiences that go well beyond the classroom.

School Incursions

We come to your school with all equipment provided. Sessions are self-contained, curriculum-aligned and ready to run.

Holiday Programs

Multi-day workshop programs during school holidays, giving children sustained, hands-on science exploration across a range of labs.

Enrichment & After-School

Enrichment sessions and after-school programs that extend what children are learning in class through active, investigative science.

Education Provider Partnerships

Open to collaborations with schools, tutoring centres, libraries and other education providers to deliver ongoing STEM programs.

“My daughter talked about her Curious Quanta workshop for weeks. She’s now obsessed with circuits!”
